FAQ

  • Are candles safe for pets?
  • NOT PARTICULARLY! Never ever leave candles lit when not in direct view, or close to pets! Some scents may also contain essential oils - which can be very harmful to dogs and cats! Boo Boo may be an adorable mascot, but she stays far away from the candles when they are lit. My recommendation is to light candles when pets are not close or in the room, and do not ever leave them alone with them. Cover candles with the included tops when not in use, so pets cannot lick or eat them. I also run an air purifier when making, and burning candles to try to reduce any air pollution in the room. Specifically harmful essential oils can include: oil of wintergreen, oil of sweet birch, citrus oil (d-limonene), pine oils, Ylang Ylang oil, peppermint oil, cinnamon oil, pennyroyal oil, clove oil, eucalyptus oil, and tea tree oil. • What type of wax do you use?
  • I use 100% soy wax grown in America from Soybeads.com - Specifically I currently only use "Freedom Wax" as it is a safe and clean wax to burn.

  • Where do you get your fragrance oils?
  • I use several sites and providers for fragrance oils. Whenever possible I try to use "clean" scents and essential oil free scents. The main providers I use are: CandleScience, Lone Star Candle Supply, Save on Scents, and Nature's Garden. If you are ever interested in knowing the exact fragrance oils in a candle feel free to reach out.

  • So why? Why are you making candles?
  • Candles are fun! I really enjoy the process of making candles, and experimenting with new scents!

  • What if there is an issue with my candles after they arrive?
  • If you ever have shipping, quality, or other issues please reach out using the contact form on the site and I will get back to you. I am a one man (and one cat!) operation - but I will do everything possible to make it right. We do our best to package up the candles so they don't break in transit, but accidents happen. Please reach out if there is ever any issues.

  • What is the Community Cat Connection?
  • The Community Cat Connection, Inc. was established in 2004 by Trudy Charette to provide Dudley, Webster, Oxford, and surrounding communities with a viable option for control of the feral cat population. Since its inception, over 3,000 cats and kittens have been rescued. In addition to this much needed service, the CCC also provides assistance in the placement of kittens and cats which have been abandoned, surrendered, and rescued. 10% of all the proceeds of Man and Cat Candle Company go to the Community Cat Connection to help cats just like Boo Boo.
